Michele Clodfelder is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Equine Assisted Therapist. Michele’s background includes working with SPMI (severely & persistently mentally ill) populations, individuals with dual diagnosis, clients with traumatic brain injury, chemically dependent clients, as well as the facilitation of a culturally-specific grief therapy group conducted at Four Winds Chemical Dependency, an inpatient hospital facility in Minnesota.
Michele works with adolescents, adults, and couples, and specializes in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, schizophrenia and grief, through the utilization of an eclectic style of integrated therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. Using a person-centered approach, Michele helps her clients work through issues related to relationships, work and family, all of which, at times, may be at the center of many difficult life situations. Additionally, Michele helps clients to develop and hone coping skills such as problem- solving and re-framing.
Michele’s certification in Equine Assisted Therapy allows her to conduct therapy in a non-traditional setting with an equally non-traditional approach, which is helpful for those who may not want to engage in traditional talk-therapy.
Michele grew up on Lake Ada in Northern Minnesota. She has a variety of experience in business and management, which influences her therapeutic approach. Michele enjoys hiking, hunting, swimming, decorating, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
